Food Trays

Custom Popcorn Trays

Popcorn is light and bulky, which makes depth more important than strength. A shallow tray holds very little and spills on the way to a seat.

It is also dry, so the board specification is one of the simplest in this range.

Design Your Own

Design Your Custom Popcorn Trays

Pick a colour, put your name on it, and see how the idea reads before you ask anyone for a price. It is a sketch rather than a manufacturing proof — the real shape is cut from the product you already serve.

Finish

Put the branding on the face that points upwards. That is the one a customer looks at while carrying the tray back to a table.

Carry this into the full designer

The full page adds the size, board, print and quantity, then sends the whole specification over in one go. Nothing is committed to at any point.

Sharing portions suit a tray; individual portions almost always suit a sleeve or cup.

Points That Matter in a Venue

  • Depth, because popcorn settles and looks less generous than it is.
  • A base that sits stably on a seat arm or a cup holder.
  • Print that reads in low light, which means contrast rather than detail.
  • Whether the tray nests for storage behind the counter.

Ordering, Artwork and Delivery

Getting a Quote

Tell us the internal size you need and what the tray has to carry. We reply with a written specification, the minimum order quantity and the lead time for your job.

Artwork

Artwork sits on the rim and outer faces; the base is covered by food. Full file requirements are set out in our artwork guidelines.

Turnaround

Lead times depend on the print method, run length and press schedule, so we confirm yours on the quote rather than publishing a single figure.

Delivery in the UK

Orders are dispatched on national carriers to any UK address. Seedelivery information for how dates are given.

Custom Popcorn Trays: Common Questions

Does popcorn packaging need a grease-resistant board?

Dry-seasoned popcorn does not. Buttered popcorn does, and it is worth being specific, since the two look identical on a spec sheet and behave very differently.

How deep should a sharing tray be?

Deeper than looks necessary. Popcorn settles considerably between filling and reaching a seat, so a tray that looks full at the counter can look half empty by the time it is sat down with.

Does popcorn need a lined board?

Dry-seasoned popcorn does not. Buttered popcorn does, and the two look identical on a specification sheet while behaving completely differently.

Will the tray fit a cup holder?

Only if the base is sized for one. Venue seating varies, so measure a seat arm before assuming.

Tray or sleeve for popcorn?

A tray suits a sharing portion; a sleeve or cup suits an individual one. Trays are harder to carry once full.

Can we print for a dark auditorium?

Design for contrast rather than detail. Fine artwork disappears in low light where a bold block still reads.

Do they nest for storage?

Yes, and that matters behind a busy kiosk where storage is usually the binding constraint rather than cost.

Will popcorn spill when carried?

Some will, because the opening is wide. Depth helps more than a narrow mouth, which slows filling.

Can we match these to popcorn sleeves?

Yes, and running both in one order keeps the colour consistent. Printed separately the same brand colour drifts visibly.

Can we order trays and sleeves together?

Yes, and venues often need both — a sleeve for individual portions and a tray for sharing. One job shares the setup.
