A footlong and a standard rarely share a sleeve well; the extra length makes the wrap flex in the middle.

Loaded Dogs Change the Geometry

A plain hot dog is a narrow cylinder. Add onions, sauerkraut and a zig-zag of sauce and the profile is much wider at the top and completely uneven.

Sleeves sized to the plain version get forced over the toppings and push them off the far end. Measure the loaded version if that is what you sell.

Sauce Resistance Is Not the Same as Grease Resistance

Tomato and mustard-based sauces are acidic and watery rather than oily, and they behave differently against board. Tell us what goes on top so the board is specified against the right thing.

Does the base really need to be closed?

For anything with sauce, yes. An open tube looks tidy on the counter and leaks within a minute of the customer walking off. A folded or closed base costs very little more and prevents the complaint.

Can we print along the length of the sleeve?

A long narrow face suits a wordmark set lengthways, which reads well when the dog is held. Keep artwork clear of the base fold, since that area is creased and partly hidden.
