Printed Paper Bags

Custom Printed Popcorn Bags

Popcorn is dry, light and bulky, which makes it one of the easiest things a paper bag ever holds.

That frees up the specification: no lining, a light paper, and the whole budget spent on the printed face.

Design Your Own

Design Your Custom Popcorn Bags

Pick a colour, put your name on it, and see how the idea reads before you ask anyone for a price. It is a sketch rather than a manufacturing proof — the real shape is cut from the product you already serve.

Finish

On unbleached board every colour prints warmer than it looks here. Two inks chosen for kraft beat four fighting the brown.

Carry this into the full designer

The full page adds the size, board, print and quantity, then sends the whole specification over in one go. Nothing is committed to at any point.

Volume Is the Constraint, Not Weight

A bag holding 100 grams of popcorn is far bigger than one holding 100 grams of anything else. Size from the volume you serve rather than the weight.

That large surface is also the reason popcorn bags carry such bold printing — there is a great deal of it to fill.

Points Worth Specifying

  • A base that stands so the bag can be filled with one hand.
  • Height that reads as generous — tall bags look like more popcorn.
  • A lining only if the popcorn is buttered rather than dry-seasoned.
  • Print with strong contrast, since cinema foyers are dim.

Striped designs remain popular because they read clearly at a distance and in low light.

Getting a Quote

Measure the item, then add enough on each side to fold and tuck. We reply with a written specification, the minimum order quantity and the lead time for your job.

Artwork

One or two colours reproduce most reliably on an absorbent stock. Full file requirements are set out in our artwork guidelines.

Turnaround

Lead times depend on the print method, run length and press schedule, so we confirm yours on the quote rather than publishing a single figure.

Custom Popcorn Bags: Common Questions

Do popcorn bags need a grease-resistant lining?

Dry-seasoned and glazed popcorn does not. Buttered popcorn does, and it is worth being specific because the two look identical on a specification and behave very differently.

How big should a popcorn bag be?

Size by volume, not weight. Popcorn is far bulkier per gram than anything else in this range, so a bag sized by weight will be much too small.

Does popcorn need a grease-resistant bag?

Dry-seasoned and glazed popcorn does not. Buttered popcorn does, and the two look identical on a specification sheet.

Why do striped designs persist?

Because they read clearly at a distance and in low light, which is exactly the condition a cinema foyer provides.

Will the bag stand open while filling?

With a formed base, yes. That matters when you are serving a queue one-handed, because a bag that collapses while being filled means spilled product and a slower line.

Should the bag be tall or wide?

Tall reads as more popcorn for the same volume, which is why cinema packaging has that shape.

Can we print full colour?

Yes, and the large flat face takes it well. Contrast matters more than detail in a dark room.

Do these suit outdoor events?

They do, though wind catches a light empty bag. Weighted storage on the pitch is worth planning for.

How many sizes should we hold?

Usually two — an individual and a sharing size. A third rarely earns its storage at an event.

Do you supply these to cinemas?

Yes, alongside events and markets. Contrast matters more than detail in a dark foyer, which shapes the design.

Prefer to Talk It Through?

Sizing questions are usually quicker on the phone, especially if you have the product in front of you.
