Printed Food Papers
Cheese is alive in a way most wrapped food is not. Sealed in something airtight it sweats and spoils; left open it dries out.
Cheese paper solves that by being breathable on one side and fat-resistant on the other, which is a genuinely different specification from ordinary food paper.
Short enquiry
Tell us the quantity and any date you are working to. We reply with the board, print and finish, plus the minimum order quantity and lead time.
Design Your Own
Pick a colour, put your name on it, and see how the idea reads before you ask anyone for a price. It is a sketch rather than a manufacturing proof — the real shape is cut from the product you already serve.

Finish
On unbleached board every colour prints warmer than it looks here. Two inks chosen for kraft beat four fighting the brown.
Carry this into the full designerThe full page adds the size, board, print and quantity, then sends the whole specification over in one go. Nothing is committed to at any point.
A cheese needs to release moisture slowly while being protected from drying out completely. That is a balance rather than a barrier.
Wrapping cheese in plain greaseproof or in film both cause problems, which is why specialist cheesemongers use a paper made for it.
For retail packs rather than counter service, bags for pre-packed cheese are the relevant format.
Leave an unprinted panel if staff label by hand rather than with a sticker.
Measure the item, then add enough on each side to fold and tuck. We reply with a written specification, the minimum order quantity and the lead time for your job.
One or two colours reproduce most reliably on an absorbent stock. Full file requirements are set out in our artwork guidelines.
Lead times depend on the print method, run length and press schedule, so we confirm yours on the quote rather than publishing a single figure.
Orders are dispatched on national carriers to any UK address. Seedelivery information for how dates are given.
You can, and it will hold the fat, but it does not manage moisture well. Cheese wrapped in it tends to sweat, which affects the surface over a few days.
If staff write the variety and date by hand, yes. Leave that panel unprinted and uncoated, because ink from a marker will not take reliably on a printed or coated surface.
Sealed airtight it sweats and the surface spoils; fully open it dries and cracks. Cheese paper sits between the two.
A hard aged cheese and a soft rind need different things. Tell us what you cut and we will specify against it.
Yes, and a restrained design suits a specialist counter better than heavy coverage. Leave room for the handwritten panel.
That is a food question for your own judgement rather than a packaging claim. The paper manages moisture; it does not set shelf life.
Frequently, alongside cheesemongers and delis. Anywhere cheese is cut to order rather than sold pre-packed.
Enough to wrap your largest cut with an overlap. Measure a typical wedge and add the fold rather than guessing.
It is a compromise. Specialist counters often hold two grades, since a soft rind and an aged hard cheese need different things.
One side is against the cheese. Printing the outer face is what the customer sees, and the inner face rarely justifies it.
Sizing questions are usually quicker on the phone, especially if you have the product in front of you.
