Getting the Fit Right

Measure across the dome at its widest, not across the case.
Allow for variation — hand-baked muffins are not dimensionally consistent.
Decide whether the sleeve grips or simply surrounds; grip risks tearing the dome.
Consider a taller sleeve if the muffins are sold to take away rather than eaten in.

They are mostly bought for exactly that. A sleeve is quicker than bagging and leaves the dome visible, which is what sells it.
