Printed Paper Bags

Custom Printed Lunch Bags

A lunch bag holds a whole meal: a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a drink and something in a wrapper. It is bulkier than a sandwich bag and gets carried around all morning.

Schools, event caterers and workplace catering all buy them for packed meal service.

Design Your Own

Design Your Custom Lunch Bags

Pick a colour, put your name on it, and see how the idea reads before you ask anyone for a price. It is a sketch rather than a manufacturing proof — the real shape is cut from the product you already serve.

Finish

On unbleached board every colour prints warmer than it looks here. Two inks chosen for kraft beat four fighting the brown.

Carry this into the full designer

The full page adds the size, board, print and quantity, then sends the whole specification over in one go. Nothing is committed to at any point.

A Whole Meal Is Bulkier than It Looks

Sized to a sandwich and a drink, a lunch bag is always slightly too small once fruit and a snack go in. The top will not fold and the bag tears at the corner.

Pack a real lunch into a sample before agreeing a size.

What Matters for Packed Meal Service

  • Enough capacity for a drink standing upright.
  • A fold-over top that holds without tape.
  • Space for a name or a dietary marking to be written on.
  • Strength to survive a morning in a school bag.

For allergy management, a clear panel for a handwritten name is worth more than any printed design.

Ordering, Artwork and Delivery

Getting a Quote

Measure the item, then add enough on each side to fold and tuck. We reply with a written specification, the minimum order quantity and the lead time for your job.

Artwork

One or two colours reproduce most reliably on an absorbent stock. Full file requirements are set out in our artwork guidelines.

Turnaround

Lead times depend on the print method, run length and press schedule, so we confirm yours on the quote rather than publishing a single figure.

Custom Lunch Bags: Common Questions

What size suits a school packed lunch?

Larger than a sandwich bag, with room for a drink standing upright. Pack a real lunch into a sample rather than sizing from the sandwich alone.

Can names be written on the bag?

Leave an unprinted, uncoated panel and a marker pen will take. For allergy management that panel is usually more important than anything else printed on the bag.

Will the bag survive a school bag?

It needs to. Specify for a morning of being carried and squashed rather than for a short trip from a counter.

Do lunch bags need handles?

Rarely, since they usually go inside another bag. Handles add cost for a use case that does not need them.

Should the top fold or seal?

A fold-over top is enough for most packed lunches and lets the bag be reopened. A seal suits pre-packed catering.

Can we print for a school?

Yes, and school and event caterers are the main buyers. A single colour usually suits the budget and the volume.

Will a drink make the bag damp?

A cold drink can sweat inside a closed bag. A lined grade helps where drinks are chilled.

How many do we order?

Count actual daily servings across a term rather than estimating. Institutional volumes are easy to get badly wrong.

Do these suit event catering as well as schools?

Yes. Conference and event caterers use the same format for packed meal service, and the requirements barely differ: a bag that holds a filled roll, a drink and a piece of fruit.

Can we print dietary marks?

A printed tick-box panel works where the menu is stable. Where meals vary daily, a sticker is more practical.

Prefer to Talk It Through?

Sizing questions are usually quicker on the phone, especially if you have the product in front of you.
